2. Shooting

As currently constructed, the Magic are a team that isn’t blessed with consistent shooters throughout the roster.

Bamba looks to have remade his jumper and that should help him next season, while Isaac hasn’t had a chance to show off his shooting touch yet either. Still, both are young, raw players on the offensive end who will need time to become reliable from 3-point range in the NBA.

Gordon may have started the season off scorching from deep, but he flamed out badly as the year wore on. Evan Fournier is another you would describe as streaky.

The Magic finished a terrible 28th in 3-point shooting last season (35.1 percent) and they need all the help they can get to improve in this area.

If Isaac and Bamba could become a semi-threat to hit deep shots, that would open the court up for the rest of the team.

Frazier is capable of doing this for the team as well, and his 3-point shooting percentage went from a putrid 26.4 percent from deep two years ago to 38.5 percent this season.

Of course these numbers may not translate directly to the pros, but it is encouraging that the team would draft a player who is at least capable of scoring the ball from deep.

Frazier looks like a slightly-further-along-in-his-development version of Wes Iwundu, despite the fact Iwundu is two years older himself. Iwundu’s last season in college he was a 37.6 percent shooter from deep. That translated to the player going a disappointing 9-for-46 as a rookie.

Frazier will likely be given license to shoot the ball that bit more off the bench when playing with guys like Bismack Biyombo, and he looks to be better equipped to hit a decent number of these shots.
