The Orlando Magic selected big man Mohamed Bamba with the sixth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Here are five reasons that was the right pick.

In the end, all the talk of the Orlando Magic being torn between which point guard to draft turned out to be off the mark.

Whether this was to throw other teams off their true intentions or simply because Trae Young was already gone is unclear, but by the time the 2018 NBA Draft had wrapped up, they had used their lottery pick on big man Mohamed Bamba.

While there was so much indecisiveness between fans as to which guard the team should go with, the feeling around the selection of Bamba is a positive one.

The frontcourt may be looking more crowded than ever before and there are only so many minutes to go around, but you have to think with the team taking Bamba that further offseason roster moves will take place.

No matter what though, the selection of Bamba should be lauded as another positive one for the Magic off the back of taking Jonathan Isaac with the sixth pick in last season’s draft.

The organization is clearly building in a certain direction, something that could not be said when former general manager Rob Hennigan was in charge. With that in mind, here are five reasons the selection of Bamba was a positive one for his team both in the short-term and the long-term.
