Sacramento Kings Rumors: Rajon Rondo Not A Priority To Re-Sign

1. Sign Rajon Rondo

If you thought that the New York Knicks needed a point guard, just pop over to Brooklyn and see their offering. Jarrett Jack is not coming back. Shane Larkin is not up to the task and Donald Sloan is not cut out to start either. Yes, they agreed to terms with Jeremy Lin yesterday, but that’s only one quality point guard in the backcourt.

Brooklyn has a heap of cap space and Rajon Rondo would like a payday that he earned last season when he led the NBA in assists while playing for the Sacramento Kings.

Rondo is a pass-first point guard. He is one of the few of this type of player left in the league. He is also an elite defender with his length and quicknes.

Rondo does not want to be a franchise player in terms of scoring. He has always helped others be their best by getting them the ball so that they are in the best position to shoot.

Rondo does have the ability to be a little different at times, but I think that the Brooklyn Nets are at a point where they need to bring in basketball talent, pure and simple.

If Rondo comes to the Brooklyn Nets, then his talent combined with Lopez will start to attract other talent, They will not attract the best of the best; Kevin Durant is not going to look at Brooklyn and see a championship team.

But they might attract mid- to high-level experience players, looking to max out their earnings while still bringing enough talent so that 2015-16 will just be a memory for the Brooklyn team and its fans.
