5 Roster Moves The Brooklyn Nets Need To Make
Last season the Brooklyn Nets were very bad, owning the third worst record in the NBA. With no draft picks for the next couple of years, here are five roster moves they need to make.
Last season the Brooklyn Nets had a really bad year, featuring the remnants of a good team that they bought that just got too old.
Joe Johnson, a star in his time, was the team’s starting small forward with a contract just shy of $25 million. His 11.8 points per game does not justify that. General manager Sean Marks waived him to help the process of the rebuild start.
Thaddeus Young was traded to Indiana for the 20th overall pick in this year’s draft, which turned out to be Chris LaVert, a 6-foot-7 combo guard with good shooting, length and shot creation. Unfortunately, he’s had frequent foot injuries so time will tell if this was a good move.
What Marks has succeeded in doing is creating about $50 million in salary cap space while keeping franchise player Brook Lopez and other important pieces such Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (last year’s promising rookie) and Bojan Bogdanovic (who started to play some good offensive basketball when Johnson had gone).
With all that lovely cap space, here are five roster moves the Brookln Nets need to make.
