The Dallas Mavericks are back in the NBA Playoffs for another season after a year filled with ups and downs. They still have the ever reliable Dirk Nowitzki, and center Tyson Chandler has returned to the team he helped propel to a title in 2011.

In Monta Ellis and Rajon Rondo, this team has a backcourt tandem that can match any in the league, particularly if Rondo can morph into playoff Rondo and be the best point guard in the East.

This team started the year on course to be one of the best offensive teams ever. That cooled considerably when the trade for Rondo went down. He’s brought with him his pass first style of play, and has knocked heads with head coach Rick Carlisle too.

Chandler Parsons has been forgotten about a little, despite the fact he’s a key cog here. Amar’e Stoudemire could yet give this team a big moment off the bench as well. The tools are there, or so it seems, it’s just about putting them together in the best way possible to go on a deep playoff run.
