What a year it’s been for the Boston Celtics. They traded away their two best players in Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green, and yet they’ve still ended up back in the playoffs. Indeed, although this looked like a rebuilding job that wasn’t quite finished yet, head coach Brad Stevens has this team playing some great basketball. The result? A trip back to the postseason that few people saw coming.

While heading to the lottery may have been the better long-term option, this team is actually loaded with picks from the trades made over the last two years, and so is covered in that regard anyway. They’re a motley crew of players, and it’s unclear how many are in Boston for the long term. But they’re playing well together and will enjoy this taste of postseason action.

A first round matchup with their old foe LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers awaits, and while the Celtics will have it all to do to even win a couple of games in that series, they won’t go down without a fight.
