Obvious suitor - Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers will be star-hunting this off-season. With LeBron James continuing to age, though seemingly very slowly, and Anthony Davis still under contract, this is the time for the Lakers to push all of their chips to the center of the table. Swinging a trade for a 24-year-old star would not only help them win now, but it could extend their title window.

James, Davis, and Garland would form a lethal Big 3, giving Los Angeles a table-setter who could take pressure off of LeBron offensively and allow Davis to focus more on the defensive end. They likely do have a package that would entice the Cavaliers, even if they do want to keep Austin Reaves out of talks for Garland. That Klutch connection to LeBron and Davis may not hurt either.

Obvious suitor - San Antonio Spurs

Victory Wembanyama's rookie year was about getting him on the floor to see what he was made of, and he didn't disappoint. The Rookie of the Year and All-Defensive honoree proved that he's already a top player in this league, which should put pressure on the front office to now accelerate their rebuild. Adding a former All-Star like Garland would help them do so.

He's already a magnificent player, but Wembanyama's production could be taken to new heights if the Spurs pursued a floor general of Garland's caliber. The tandem would be a lethal one-two punch and could wreak havoc for years to come, growing alongside one another. The Spurs cannot sit back and take a slow approach, and adding Garland would show that they are ready to take a leap.
