Detroit Pistons: Who is likely to return to this team next season?
By Duncan Smith
Locks to return to the Detroit Pistons next season
Jerami Grant
There are very few players deemed untouchable in the NBA, but for the Detroit Pistons, Jerami Grant is as close as it gets. He gambled on himself that he would be able to handle an increase in responsibilities, and although he’s struggled off and on over the past few months, he’s largely shown just that. Grant is going nowhere.
Killian Hayes
Killian Hayes is the first draft pick Troy Weaver made as a fully-fledged general manager, and he isn’t going anywhere either. In spite of some rookie-season struggles, he’s shown flashes of the potential that saw him go seventh overall in the 2020 NBA draft, and he’s looked considerably better since returning from a torn labrum earlier this month.

Saddiq Bey
Some nights, Saddiq Bey is the best player on the floor for the Pistons. Mind you, that’s occasionally something of an indictment on the team itself when a rookie selected 19th overall can stake that claim, but Bey has been outstanding regardless. He’s setting rookie 3-point records, he has an Eastern Conference Player of the Week award, and Bey is also going nowhere next season.
Isaiah Stewart
A man born to be a Detroit Pistons, Isaiah Stewart has implanted himself into the hearts of this team’s fans. Like Bey, he’s been a delightful surprise and he has also expanded his game to show off some potent jump-shooting. Stewart is a keeper.
Hamidou Diallo
Hamidou Diallo might seem out of place in any “lock to return” category, but that was the plan when the Pistons traded for him. As an upcoming restricted free agent, Weaver intends to make him an integral part of the organization’s future.
