3. First Round Exit

This purely depends on where the Jazz finish in the regular season, but assuming that they finish in the top 4 of the conference, they’ll avoid an upset in the first round.

It is difficult to imagine who the Jazz would have to face in the first round of the playoffs, but possible rivals include the Houston Rockets, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Golden State Warriors, and maybe even the Denver Nuggets. All of those matchups would be difficult, but the Jazz have the personnel on the roster and on the coaching front to beat any of those teams. This is why a first-round exit is the least likely of the possible endings.

However, all it takes is one injury, or for someone from the opposing team to have a fantastic series, and the Jazz are right back where they were in 2018-19, losing in round one. It would certainly leave a sour taste in the mouths of the fanbase in Utah and in the front office who put together the talented roster that they currently have.

The upgrade from Ricky Rubio to Mike Conley is one that is sure to show come playoff time. Conley alone might have been enough to lead them past the first round, but the team acquired more players to help with a playoff push. With the improved talent on the team, it is hard to imagine them losing in the first round, no matter who their opponent is.
