2. Conference Finals

If the Jazz did make it to the conference finals, that would be a success in and of itself. The Jazz have been first and second-round exits for the past few seasons, so any improvement would be seen as a great season.

The reason this ranks above the first-round exit is due to the Jazz being better than any team they’d have to face first. Add in that one of the L.A. teams may not make it to the conference finals, and that allows Utah to throw their name in as one of the teams to watch for that opening.

The Jazz would more than likely have to face another L.A. team if they did make it to the conference finals, and that is most likely where the run would end. Both teams, the Lakers and the Clippers, have too much star power for the Jazz to match up with. However, they would take both teams to six games and put up a big fight.

If, for some reason, the Jazz were matched up against the Rockets, Nuggets, or any other team in this round, then the Finals is more than likely for a team that hasn’t been to one since 1997-98

Regardless of opponent, there is still one more scenario that remains more likely than the first round or conference finals.
