5. Jontay Porter, PF — Missouri

Everyone seems to forget Jontay Porter because of his brother Michael Porter Jr. His brother is a top 10 pick and that has shed some light on Porter himself. Both are different players and it’s clear who is more talented, but that doesn’t mean that Porter doesn’t have value.

He could end up developing into quite a nice player for whoever he plays for. He’s shown that he can become a good two-way player in this league. His numbers weren’t off the charts, but they certainly showed that with time, he may come into his own.

Porter averaged 9.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 blocks and 0.8 steals per game, all while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and  36.4 percent from 3.

One thing that does need to get better for him is his consistency on offense. He did show that he can shoot the ball from 3 with his average being 36.4 percent on 3.3 attempts per game.

His field goal percentage of just 43.7 percent is a little eye-popping for someone who spends the majority of his time down in the post, but averaging almost one block and one steal per game is a good testament to how good his defense can be at the next level.

Plus, Brad Stevens is a coaching wizard that could change this man into one of the better two-way players of this draft. He may never be as good as his brother, but it’s not out of the question that they both can be special players in this league.

He has the ability to become a solid NBA starter and that’s a go for anyone at this stage in the draft order.
