1. Andrew Bogut

The former No. 1 overall pick, Andrew Bogut, does still have some value. Despite being 33 years old, he does have the build to be a great asset to this team. He’s a towering 7’0″ and 260 pounds.

Because of his size, he does have the ability to torture opposing players down low. Over his career he’s averaged 1.6 blocks per game. He hasn’t had a really good season blocking the ball in about three seasons. But who needs to block shots if you can play good defense as it is?

Bogut would just be more firepower to an already great defense. Defense isn’t the biggest need for this team, but hey, the old saying is, “defense wins championships.” While he’s good at defense, his offense on the other hand is … the opposite.

The last time he averaged over 10 points per game was with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2011-12, averaging 11.3 points per game. This doesn’t necessarily help the issue in the scoring department, but he’s too good of an option to pass up on.

The other way you can look at this, is that he would be another body for the Celtics to use. Adding him will allow Baynes and Horford to rest and have enough energy to play. All three of these players could help the Celtics win games, and possibly solve some size issues. If he doesn’t pan out, remember that it’s only a 10-day contract.
