2. Mike Dunleavy Jr.

Adding a player like Mike Dunleavy Jr, could be very beneficial. As highlighted in a recent article, the Celtics’ lack of experience could hurt them down the stretch. To no fault of their own, they just have a lot of young players.

Dunleavy has appeared in 32 total playoff games through his long and impressive career. He could be a mentor for this team, along with some of the other veterans. Dunleavy understands what it takes to win games. That could be contagious for some of these young guns on the roster.

He isn’t known for much, except for his ability to shoot the ball. He’s been in the league for 15 years, and throughout that span, he’s averaged 37.7 percent shooting from 3. Occasionally he would shoot about 40 percent, but mainly in the upper 30s.

He’s 37 years old, but he isn’t going to be used as a young player. Instead, Boston would ask him to be a floor-spacer and hit 3s in limited minutes. He can surely heat up in a hurry, which means he can help the Celtic’s bench scoring issue.

If his age does become an issue, he’d be on a 10-day contract anyway. He could hold great value in the long run, but if not, it wouldn’t hurt to try.
