Boston Celtics: 3 things to be thankful for
1. Bright future
Undoubtedly this Celtics team has a bright future. On the roster there only two players that are over the age of 30 — those being Aaron Baynes (30), and Al Horford (31). The core, and future of this team is young, and talented. Horford is part of the core, but looking at the long-term outlook of this team…he’s not going to be in five years or so.
- Tatum – 19
- Brown – 21
- Irving – 25
- Hayward – 27
- Rozier – 23
- Smart – 23
This team for the forseable future looks to be in good hands. Brown has shown great improvements this year, scoring 16.2 points per game, and dominating on the defensive side of things. Tatum is in contention for Rookie of the Year, and is making big strides already this season.
It will be interesting to see how Hayward recovers from that injury, but it should be nothing to worry about coming from him. Irving has improved greatly on defense this season, after being pegged as one of the worst defenders in the league.
Lastly, we have the two bench guys in Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier. Smart has had his struggles on offense, there is no doubt about that. This season alone, he is shooting it 26 percent from three. But while we know he has had his issues on offense, he still is very valuable. His defense is one of the best in the league, and he always shows heart and passion for the game. He’s always been a lockdown defender and is averaging 1.5 steals per game.
Rozier, another good defender, has shown his worth as the backup point guard to Irving. He too is another player who struggles to find his shot at times, but he is only 23 years old.

Things will come bigger and easier for these young guys, and that’s the scary thing. Things are bright now, but come five years from now, this Celtics team will be scary good. There is a lot to be thankful for, and this Boston Celtics team has given everyone many reasons to be thankful.
