4. Average 5 rebounds per game

The Spurs are going to be lacking depth in their frontcourt this season. LaMarcus Aldridge, Pau Gasol and Joffrey Lauvergne are the primary bigs. Because of this, Gay might have to play the power forward position at times.

If he does take that role, he will need to help grab boards on both ends of the floor. Standing at 6’8″, Gay is able to get down low and get rebounds. It is just a matter of him doing it.

He has averaged 5.9 rebounds per game for his career, which is a solid number. However, the Spurs are going to need him to help in this area as much as possible. Five rebounds a game is not much but it could be the difference-maker in some games.

If Gay comes onto the floor and is able to make an impact in both the scoring and rebounding columns, they will be even stronger than expected.
