This year is huge for not only the Spurs but Rudy Gay. Coming back from a torn Achilles, Gay has a lot to prove this season. Here are five goals for Gay.

The San Antonio Spurs added some new faces during the offseason, including players like Brandon Paul, Rudy Gay and Joffrey Lauvergne. Gay is looking to bounce back from his Achilles injury last season in a January game against the Indiana Pacers.

While last season didn’t work out Gay wanted, he was still able to put up good numbers. During his 30 games with the Sacramento Kings, he was able to average 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

This season will be different for Gay. This will be the first time we have seen him take the backseat to someone else. The Spurs are more than likely going to use a starting lineup that doesn’t feature Gay, as he will be the team’s primary weapon off the bench.

With that being said, Gay is going to have a lot to learn in this new role. Let’s break down five goals he should have in 2017-18.
