5. Start 50 games

In his four seasons in the NBA, with stops in Golden State, Philadelphia, Orlando and San Antonio, Dewayne Dedmon has appeared in 224 games, starting only 78 times.

Even though he saw limited time on the floor, averaging 17.5 minutes a night with the Spurs a season ago, he was afforded the opportunity to start in nearly half of his games played.

Dedmon made the most of his opportunity, posting 5.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game while setting career-highs in games played, minutes, points, rebounds and starts.

San Antonio incorporated Dedmon into the starting lineup 37 times, including a stretch of 20 consecutive starts stretching from the end of January to mid-March.

Atlanta brought back center Mike Muscala, a 6’11” center capable of stretching out defenses with his long range shooting and landed Miles Plumlee in the trade for Dwight Howard, but coach Mike Budenholzer should lean heavily on Dedmon, enabling him to start a majority of the year.
