4. Shoot 60 percent from the field

At each of his stops in the league, Dewayne Dedmon has received limited offensive opportunities, a trend likely to continue during his first season with the Hawks.

Atlanta had Dwight Howard shoot just 8.3 times per game, the sixth-most on the team, leading to his frustration with the team.

More from Atlanta Hawks

Dedmon has grown accustomed to limited scoring opportunities. During his stint in San Antonio, the 28-year-old center averaged a career-high 3.4 shot attempts per game, with 10 being the most shots he took a year ago.

Even though the Spurs had 10 players attempt more shots per game than Dedmon, he made the most of his scoring chances. Dedmon converted 62.2 percent of his attempts, with 73.4 percent of his attempts coming at the rim.

Dedmon was nearly automatic, as 44.7 percent of his made field goals last season came off dunks and he ranked 39th in the league with 65 dunks.

The pairing of Dedmon and point guard Dennis Schroder will lead to plenty of shot opportunities at the rim. Atlanta ran 10.1 pick-and-roll plays for Schroder per game, the seventh-most in the NBA.

If Dedmon can capitalize on his chances at the rim, he could be in line to double his scoring output, at 5.1 points per game, from last season.
