Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson played with the New Orleans Pelicans this season and has been with New Orleans the past four years.

But, it looks like the two sides will be parting ways this summer, as Anderson is ready to hit it big as a free agent and the Pelicans want to retool their roster that underachieved last season.

The Wizards desperately need to improve upon their three-point shooting, and Anderson can help provide that. He is a career 37.7 shooter from deep and averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season with the Pelicans.

Even though the Wizards sent a first-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for Markieff Morris at the trade deadline, their frontcourt could use an upgrade. Anderson would be an upgrade, but he won’t be easy to obtain.

Anderson will cost a lot in free agency, hitting the market when a lot of teams are in need of three-point shooting and the NBA is enamored with smaller lineups that can stretch the floor. Also, there will be competition for his services.

In addition to the Wizards, the Sacramento Kings have also expressed interest in signing Anderson once free agency begins this weekend. If Anderson only cares about maximizing dollars and not winning, the Kings could outbid the Wizards for Anderson’s services.

Sacramento also gives Anderson a chance to return home and play in front of friends and family.
