2016 NBA Draft: 3 Best Landing Spots for Buddy Hield
1. Philadelphia 76ers
This may seem like a stretch, but let’s not forget Buddy Hield was very much in the discussion for the No. 1 overall pick while the NCAA Tournament was going on.
That’s likely because of (a) Ben Simmons and LSU not making the tournament and (b) Hield outplaying Brandon Ingram, albeit just barely. Nothing is set in stone yet for this year’s draft so we can’t write Hield off just yet.
And if he were to be selected at No. 1, the 76ers are one of the best fits possible.

To be honest, the 76ers need pretty much everything. The only position they’re set at is center as they have three potentially great big men in
Nerlens Noel,
Jahlil Okaforand, even though he hasn’t played an NBA game yet,
Joel Embiid.
Although their needs include basically everything except center, the Sixers could expedite their rebuilding process by drafting someone like Buddy Hield.
Philly’s guard depth includes mainly Ish Smith, Isaiah Canaan, Hollis Thompson, and Nik Stauskas. Not exactly a star-studded cast.
If Buddy Hield knows how to do one thing, it’s put the ball in the basket, so before they fill any other needs, the Sixers should focus on finding the guy they can build around.
They obviously have a few options to do that, but from Hield’s point of view, the 76ers are a very solid landing spot as he will be the guy from the get-go.
