1998 The Toronto Raptors

Just 131 games after going third overall, the Boston Celtics parted ways with Chauncey Billups. The NBA trade deadline in 1998 sent the Toronto Raptors one heck of a gift, if only they had known. It was a quiet deadline but this launched the crazy start to a wild career for Mr. Big Shot.

The Deal

Billups headed to the 6 with Dee Brown, Roy Rogers, and John Thomas. The Raptors sent back Kenny Anderson, Popeye Jones, and Zan Tabak.

Billups played only 29 games for Toronto before moving on to the Denver Nuggets. Billups spent only 58 games as a Nugget before moving on to the Orlando Magic. He played zero games in Orlando before moving on to Minnesota, where he came into his own before ultimately moving on to the Detroit Pistons.
