1997 The Houston Rockets

The round mound of rebound took his talents to Texas and joined fellow elder legends Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler. It was a powerful trio that game just two games short of a Finals appearance with Michael Jordan and the Bulls. It’s a less talked about, ‘what if’, but the 1997 Rockets might’ve given the Bulls a run for their money. The Jazz would of course fall for the second straight year to Chicago Bulls.

The Deal

The Rockets acquired Charles Barkley and a second-round pick in exchange for Chucky Brown, Mark Bryant, Sam Cassell, and Robert Horry who went to the Phoenix Suns. Pretty good deal for Chuckster, even if he was on his last legs.

There it is, 20 NBA trade deadlines. Every deadline during the career of Mr. Kobe Bryant.
