May 14, 2005 — Miami Heat at Washington Wizards

42 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 42 minutes

Wade clinched an Eastern Conference Finals berth for the 2004-05 Heat in an epic fashion.

Dwyane posted 42 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block to help Miami finish off its second-round sweep of the Washington Wizards. The Heat actually trailed the contest at halftime, but Wade scored a whopping 22 points (7-for-7 from the field, 8-of-8 from the line) in the third quarter that put Miami on top for good.

As he did many times in Miami before LeBron James‘ arrival, Wade carried the Heat in this one. He attacked the rim relentlessly and would not be outworked by his opponents.

Making his performance even more impressive, Wade was just 23 at the time.
