1) Paul George

The Sixers have repeatedly been linked to LA Clippers star Paul George, who has yet to agree to a contract extension with his team. That may not happen before the June 30th deadline, particularly with a report that the Clippers are skeptical of giving him a max contract. That could open the door for the Sixers, who could desperately use a third star such as George.

Although George isn't cut out to be the best player on a great team, his versatility as an offensive player and defender would make him the ideal second or third option alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

If George and the Clippers can't agree to a new deal, the Sixers are one of the few playoff teams from this season who can sign him outright this summer, and with an MVP and a fast-rising star, they might be his best possible landing spot.

After all, the path to the NBA Finals probably looks better for an Eastern Conference team such as the Sixers, with the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks suffering early exits. Meanwhile, the Western Conference has teams such as the Denver Nuggets, who look like a dominant postseason team, as well as several up-and-coming teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves, and even the San Antonio Spurs on the horizon.

All that is to say is that George may see the Sixers as the best place to try and win a championship, should the Clippers ever let him walk.
