NBA Trades: Would the Kings agree to the deal?

For the Kings, who have already upgraded this summer by acquiring future Hall of Famer DeMar DeRozan, swapping out Kevin Huerter and a first-rounder and a pick swap for a potential future star in Jonathan Kuminga would be a no-brainer. Adding Kuminga would give them a winger who can defend and score efficiently.

While he isn't much of a 3-point shooter, from January 1 to the end of last season, he averaged 18.6 points on 54.1% shooting in addition to 5.3 rebounds per game in just 29 minutes a game. That suggests that, given a bigger role, he could thrive, especially playing alongside Domantas Sabonis, who could get him plenty of open looks when Kuminga plays off-ball as a cutter.

Pairing him with De'Aaron Fox, DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray, and Sabonis would give them a stacked lineup that could help them return to the playoffs and potentially advance to the second round for the first time in 20 years. It might cost them in the long run, with Kuminga up for an extension this summer before potentially hitting restricted free agency, with Murray following suit next summer.

That's not to mention that Fox can become an unrestricted free agent next summer, all of which would make the Kings wildly expensive but for a team that's been mostly irrelevant for the last 20 years, this deal seems like a worthwhile risk.
