4 overlooked NBA Draft prospects the Heat could transform into major steals

The Miami Heat are known for finding and developing undervalued players, and with the 15th pick in the 2024 draft, they have a strong chance to add another overlooked prospect.

1) Isaiah Collier

Perhaps one of the more intriguing prospects that could fall to the Heat at 15 is USC point guard Isaiah Collier. Collier is an intriguing player considering his size at 6'5, strong frame, and quickness, which he used to good effect by averaging 16.4 points and 4.6 assists per game. His physical tools should make him an effective slasher at the next level, possibly for the Heat.

Collier did struggle at times with inconsistency and turnovers, resulting in him dropping out of the top five in most mock drafts. Many now expect him to go in the teens, and Miami could use someone in the pipeline at point guard. In fact, given their track record, they have done more with less. Assuming that Collier is a hard worker, Miami may eventually be able to turn him into a starting caliber point guard.

One who can put pressure on the rim is a decent midrange and 3-point shooter and a capable facilitator. There aren't any perfect prospects available in the middle of the first round, especially in a questionable draft like this one, but if he falls to 15, the Heat could and should strongly consider taking a flyer on Collier.
