Can the Kings’ historic offense take them to the NBA Finals?

What makes the Kings such a mesmerizing Cinderella story is just their ability to get the job done by winning games. They have shooting, rebounding, and plenty of athleticism between their plethora of guards and wings, seemingly having solutions to everything. Oh yeah, and Sabonis is pretty much a serious dark horse on many MVP ballots.

Multiple times each week, they usually get an explosion from the likes of Kevin Huerter’s career campaign and Malik Monk’s comfortability, aside from his Kentucky backcourt mate in Fox. Former Warriors champion Harrison Barnes even had a month where he put up nearly 19 PPG. Monk has broken a Kings’ record for most points and assists recorded in a single season off the bench. Huerter Former Warriors champion Harrison Barnes even had a month where he put up north of 19 PPG. To illustrate it, here is Huerter’s March.

Trey Lyles and Chimezie Metu are also spark plugs whenever their number gets called. A huge luxury has been the fourth overall pick, Keegan Murray. His adapting has tremendously improved each game in year one as a significant weapon moving forward. Murray has put up 15 pts, and 4.6 rebounds over his last five games shooting 41 3P%. Murray is just three triples away from breaking the all-time rookie record.

A picture-perfect example? A few weeks back when the Kings jumped to the second seed with a huge win in Phoenix on March 11. Kessler Edwards was a crunch-time menace coming up heroic with 12 of his own with seven rebounds and two triples. Only missed two of his six shots. Displayed the spark and confidence Coach Brown instills in his fearless squad.

“It just always seems like they have answers combined with the Sabonis element, which he’s basically like discount-Jokic,” said Simmons.
