Offseason roster moves the Sacramento Kings need to make: 4. Re-sign Donte DiVincenzo
Donte DiVincenzo came to the Kings as part of the four-team trade from the Milwaukee Bucks. He played 25 games with the franchise, starting only one of them. This appeared to cause some tension between the player and the franchise, as he believed they were trying to lower his potential value in free agency by not playing him as much as he thought they should.
The good news for the Kings is that DiVincenzo is a restricted free agent, which means the team can match any offer DiVincenzo is given. He is sure to attract a high level of attention given his skillset and experience.
DiVincenzo is a solid 3&D player who can defend three positions while also hurting the opposition at the opposite end, especially with the three-ball. He is a career 34.7 percent three-point shooter, a number that has risen as his career has progressed.
DiVincenzo also has championship experience, which is something that the Kings can utilize. DiVincenzo’s play may not be enough to stop a 16-year playoff drought, but if he can pass on anything that helps the rest of the team, then the Kings would benefit.
