Week 21 NBA Power Rankings: 30. Houston Rockets

Rank last week: 30

Despite somewhat of a successful week, the Houston Rockets are still the worst team in the NBA. It will take a lot more than a 2-2 week to push them up the rankings. That being said, there are definitely some positives to take away from this past week.

The most glaringly obvious thing is that Jalen Green looks like a legitimate star. He’s been solid all season, but there’s been one area where he’s struggled – efficiency. Well, over the past week, he’s been shooting the ball super well.

He’s averaged 23.5 points on 52.9 percent shooting from the field and 40.0 percent from deep on high-volume shooting. Green has looked like the potential star that the Rockets took with the second-overall pick this past offseason.

Plus, Christian Wood has played great in the games he’s appeared in, putting up over 26 points and 11 rebounds in two contests. But the highlight of the week for the Rockets wasn’t a win, and it wasn’t any of their young guys.

No. Their week was highlighted by Eric Gordon making LeBron James look absolutely silly on the basketball court. And the best part about the moment? Houston managed to get the win that night, too.
