The Domantas Sabonis effect is working wonders for the Kings: Other pieces

Domantas Sabonis is the catalyst of Sacramento’s success, but let’s start by reviewing all of the other pieces they received in their trade-deadline deals, as well as how they’ve fared so far.

By far the most impactful player (outside of Sabonis) that the Kings got is Justin Holiday. In his first two games with the Kings, he’s played just under 30 minutes a night in each one, and as a starter, too!

He was red-hot from three in the first one, and while he went 0-for-6 in the second, his impact was still felt. His constant boost of energy and hustle is a massive help to Sacramento’s lineup.

Next up, there’s Jeremy Lamb, who missed the Kings’ game vs. the Washington Wizards due to ankle soreness. But in their tile vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves, he was solid.

He gave the Kings the scoring many expected him to, as well as filling up the box score. Combined with Holiday’s production, they will easily replace Buddy Hield (and then some).

Finally, there’s the most intriguing of the bunch – Donte DiVincenzo. The Villanova product didn’t shoot well in his Kings debut, but his defensive presence was felt all over the court.

At only 25 years old, DiVincenzo will be able to learn and grow with Sactown’s young core. They are brewing something truly special, and the defense has shown flashes of promise.
