NBA Trades: 3 panic trades for the New York Knicks to avoid – Myles Turner

Now this one really baffles me. We have been hearing about the team’s interest in Myles Turner for a couple of years now, and it doesn’t really make any sense.

Is it the resemblance to another big man that can stretch the floor and block shots like very few in the league? Well, we all know how that ended up for the New York Knicks.

All jokes aside, don’t get me wrong, Turner is a great player and would be a joy to have for any coach, especially Tom Thibodeau. But is he really what the organization should be focusing on at the moment?

You could say that the Knicks are leaking in many areas at the moment. The total lack of a playmaker, a true shot-creator, someone that can take over the game when it matters most. These issues won’t go away with Turner around.

Mitchell Robinson has been holding down that center spot pretty well this season. Is he one of the best big men around? No. But neither is Turner. And Robinson is certainly doing a good enough job to make the management turn their focus elsewhere.

A potential deal for Turner that would include at least two young players and some draft picks (and would only slightly improve the team) is without a doubt the last thing that the New York Knicks front office should have on the table right now.
