Why George Hill is the ultimate glue guy for the Bucks: Valuable contributor

Veteran point guard Jrue Holiday is playing like an All-Star for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. However, every starting point guard needs a reliable backup that can direct the offense when he takes a breather. That is where George Hill fits in nicely.

Hill is not just a guy who shouts instructions to players who stay in Coach Budenholzer’s rotation. He gets in the game and makes his presence felt on the floor. At 6-4, he is a big guard who is capable of playing defense against either backcourt position.

This defensive versatility means Hill can play alongside Grayson Allen, Wesley Matthews, or even Holiday if the situation calls for it. A reliable defender is worth his weight in gold, and Hill has earned his reputation as a player with a high defensive IQ.

So far this season, Hill is averaging very respectable numbers of 7.2 points per game to go along with 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Those numbers may not jump off the page, but they are solid contributions from a player who is asked to be a facilitator on offense and be an overall calming presence while he’s on the floor.

Hill is holding up his end of the bargain, and the Bucks are responding. They’re currently on a three-game winning streak and appear to be gelling at the right time.

George Hill and the Milwaukee Bucks are back together again. The team looks poised to make another deep playoff run and Hill’s contributions have been far from a disappointment.

Coming out of the East will be no easy task this year. However, if the Bucks are able to make it to the Finals again, it’s safe to say George Hill will play an integral role in helping them get there.
