NBA Trades: 3 Marcus Smart trades based on recent NBA rumors – Atlanta Hawks

Hawks receive: Marcus Smart, Josh Richardson, Romeo Langford, 2024 First-Round PIck

Celtics receive: John Collins, Gorgui Dieng

A trade such as this one is only possible because of the recent rumors regarding the Atlanta Hawks. Things aren’t going too well for them right now.

Reportedly, John Collins is growing increasingly frustrated with his role on the team. So much so, that he is now a staple in most NBA trade rumors as of late.

If the Hawks want to add some defense to their roster, this would certainly help out with that. They’d be getting three defensive-minded players to add to their rotation.

Marcus Smart is the ideal backcourt partner to put next to Trae Young. If they want to mask all of Young’s defensive issues, then who better to pair him with than one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA.

Josh Richardson would also be a great piece for the Hawks to add. He’s played super well in Boston, and Atlanta would benefit not only from his defense but his great three-point shooting, too.

Romeo Langford would mainly be a throw-in for them to take a chance on, as he’s shown some solid defensive potential but not at a consistent rate just yet.

For Boston, this would see them add that third star that they’ve been rumored to be chasing. Collins is an All-Star-caliber player who would pair beautifully with Robert Williams in the frontcourt.
