NBA Rumors: Damian Lillard reacts to recent rumors on Twitter
By Jack Simone
The Portland Trail Blazers have been at the center of NBA rumors for the past two days. Following the firing of GM Neil Olshey, things have only been going downhill.
On top of injuries to Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons, and Nassir Little, guard CJ McCollum has now suffered a collapsed lung. It’s a scary thing that makes Portland’s already tough season even worse.
NBA rumors also disclosed that there is supposedly a rift forming between new head coach Chauncey Billups and the team. In addition, Damian Lillard had grown increasingly frustrated with the roster.
According to the rumors, Lillard wants to play with disgruntled Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons. However, Lillard had something to say about these supposed rumors.
NBA Rumors: Damian Lillard reacts to recent rumors on Twitter
Lillard is very active on Twitter, and that has been no different this past week. The superstar point guard took to social media to rebuke the claims that he is unhappy in Portland.
The day the NBA rumors surfaced, Lillard quote-tweeted this tweet about the drama. According to him, the NBA media likes drama way more than they should.
A tweet like this implies that none of the rumors are true, but with how messy everything seems to be in Portland, it’s tough to know what to believe. Lillard didn’t hold back when coming for Olshey, though.
Just a day later, Lillard quote-tweeted this meme which is supposed to represent Olshey and NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski colluding to start drama surrounding the team.
Lillard was, obviously, not surprised by the meme, and his response suggests that he believes it to be true. Could the rumors simply be something Portland’s former GM started up just to spite the team?
How will everything play out for Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers? Only time will tell. But until then, fans can certainly enjoy watching the drama unfold on Twitter.
