Struggling NBA teams who will turn things around soon: Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets have won just three of their last 10 after a sizzling start, bringing their record to a disappointing .500 mark.

The reason is clear – just look at their injury report. Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., and PJ Dozier are all out. Worse, each of those injuries are significant ones that will likely end the latter two’s season.

Despite long-term injuries to some of their best players, I’m still confident in them turning things around. Nikola Jokic (who also has missed time) continues to be one of, if not the best player in the league. The reigning MVP can elevate whoever the team throws on the court around him.

Denver’s front office is also unlikely to let one of their superstar’s prime seasons go to waste and is a prime candidate to bring in extra help via trade or buyout target.

Bones Hyland has been a draft-night steal for them and they still have a deep slate of veterans including Aaron Gordon, Will Barton, and Jeff Green. Put that together with coach Michael Malone, there’s no reason to doubt their ability to flip the switch and make another playoff run.
