Struggling NBA teams who will turn things around soon: Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers have been far from bad this year, as they sit in the number eight spot of the current standings. But they weren’t supposed to be a team that sneaks into the bottom of the playoff picture.

Last year, they snagged the number one seed and were expected to compete for the top spot again, despite the never-ending Ben Simmons drama.

While Simmons isn’t playing, he’s also their best asset at the moment. He’s almost certain to be traded, giving an already stacked roster even more firepower.

MVP candidate Joel Embiid is also still getting healthy and looking much more like himself of late. Since returning from a nine-game absence, he’s rattled off four consecutive double-doubles.

Tyrese Maxey has hit the opposite of a sophomore slump and has been one of their more important players. If he continues to improve, Embiid stays on the court, and they add another All-Star-level player via trade, the 76ers should once again compete for the top spot in the East.
