NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – Brooklyn Nets

In the realm of blowing up the league, seeing the Brooklyn Nets move on from James Harden after parts of two seasons to land Daryl Morey the player he has wanted all along would be fascinating.

Harden is less effective as an offensive hub now that the foul rules have been changed this season. However, he would still be the perfect companion for Joel Embiid. As talented as the Nets are, something still feels off. It is not simply that Kyrie Irving has not yet joined the team.

Simmons would be an amazing initiator for the team and would allow them to run more of a coherent offensive plan, instead of one that sometimes is limited to two of the best scorers of this generation taking turns.

His defense would also be clearly welcome given the glut of older big men tasked with the tougher defensive assignments (too often has Blake Griffin been mentioned as the team’s best defender).

Further bolstering that, Matisse Thybulle joining Simmons in Brooklyn would give them a multi-faceted way to attack opposing wings.

This is so unlikely it borders on the not worth considering. Imagining Kevin Durant’s face when the leaders of the team tell him that they traded his hand-picked running mate away leads to plenty of questions. However, this is the type of move that would make both teams much better.
