NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – Orlando Magic

While the move for the Thunder did not make much sense, the Orlando Magic should be sniffing around the Ben Simmons situation. They have a glut of guards on the roster that could flesh out the bench for the Sixers, and Simmons would compliment rookie Franz Wagner’s defensive acumen to a tee.

Establishing an identity for this young team around the core of Wagner, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr., and Jalen Suggs would be a huge step forward for the organization. This would also allow them to explore whatever the market may be for Markelle Fultz and Jonathan Isaac.

Cole Anthony’s improvement in his second season has made this discussion possible in the first place. He would bring an explosive scoring touch and attitude that would immediately endear himself to the Philadelphia fan base. He is the perfect young prospect for them to bring in.

On the veteran side of things, Gary Harris is a respected defensive guard with an occasional shooting stroke. Terrence Ross has been the best kept sixth-man secret in the league and would bolster the bench with his shooting.

Albeit an unlikely move given the stated demand for a star in return, the Magic could certainly improve the Sixers’ chances in the short term to compete at the highest level.
