NBA trades to help the Los Angeles Lakers: Bryn Forbes & Keita Bates-Diop

Lakers receive: Bryn Forbes, Keita Bates-Diop

Spurs receive: DeAndre Jordan, Kent Bazemore, 2027 First-Round Pick, 2028 Second-Round Pick

None of these Lakers trades are going to be anything close to blockbusters. However, this trade would see two players who have not been playing well turned into two players who can play a role on the Lakers.

Bryn Forbes is a name LA fans should know, as he’s been in the league for a few years now. Most notably, he won a championship with the Milwaukee Bucks last season.

Forbes is a sniper from behind the arc and would be a huge boost to Los Angeles’ offense. He’s shooting 41.7 percent from deep this season.

LA could use an extra shooter on the perimeter to surround their stars. Meanwhile, Keita Bates-Diop would play a very different role for the Lakers.

The 6-8 wing hasn’t played a huge role on any team in the league, but he could find a niche in LA. They have struggled on defense, and his athleticism and length could help them in that area.

Meanwhile, a rebuilding Spurs team would get two veterans (who they could buy out) and some picks for their troubles. This seems like a solid, yet fairly boring, deal all around.
