NBA trades to help the Portland Trail Blazers improve: Christian Wood

Trail Blazers receive: Christian Wood

Rockets receive: Larry Nance Jr., Nassir Little, 2024 First-Round Pick

With the way the Houston Rockets are playing this season, it might be in their best interest to trade Christian Wood. If that ends up happening, the Portland Trail Blazers should definitely throw their hat in the ring.

Wood is a versatile offensive player who would give the Blazers more options on that side of the ball. Not only can he stretch the floor for Lillard and McCollum, but he can bang on the block, too.

While he’s not the best defender in the world, he’s still solid on that side of the floor. He’s an emerging young star who could help bolster Portland’s lineup.

The Rockets are a young, up-and-coming team, and he might be just a tad bit old for their timeline. Trading him now could be in their best interest.

Portland just traded for Larry Nance Jr. this offseason, but Wood would be an upgrade. In addition, the Blazers would have to give up Nassir Little in this trade.

Little has been solid, but the talent they are getting with Wood is much more valuable. They need all the help they can get right now in Portland.

Wood could slot into the starting lineup, bumping Powell to a bench role, or Wood could be the team’s sixth man himself. It would definitely give Chauncey Billups some options.

This is definitely the sort of trade the Blazers should look to explore if it becomes available. Wood would be able to help out a lot.
