NBA trades to help the Portland Trail Blazers improve: Domantas Sabonis

Trail Blazers receive: Domantas Sabonis

Pacers receive: Robert Covington, Nassir Little, Greg Brown III, 2023 First-Round Pick, 2025 First Round Pick, 2027 First-Round Pick

This deal seems a bit out there, but it could work out well for Portland. They would be getting another All-Star to pair alongside Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum in Domantas Sabonis.

Sabonis may not help a ton with their defensive issues, but he’s not awful on that end. The key piece here is that he’s another All-Star they can roll out.

The offense would be taken to another level with him in the post. He could create for others down there while also bullying opposing bigs like he currently does in Indiana.

It would be weird to see how he plays with other stars on the roster, but talent always figures it out. Lillard, Sabonis, and McCollum sounds like a pretty good trio.

Portland would have to give up Robert Covington, Nassir Little, and Greg Brown III in this deal. Indiana would be getting solid young pieces and three, potentially valuable picks.

Pacers fans may look at this and scoff, but those picks are the real prize here. If this Trailblazers core ends up falling apart, they could have some lottery picks on their hands.

This trade would bring another star to Portland, hopefully catapulting the Trail Blazers closer to an NBA title. Sabonis on the Trail Blazers would be very fun to see.
