Teams for the Sixers and Ben Simmons to keep an eye on: 2. Golden State Warriors

If the Philadelphia 76ers were hoping the Golden State Warriors would get off to a bad start, they were barking up the wrong tree. Steph Curry has been transcendent (if imperfect) thus far, and the Warriors are 2-0 after wins versus both the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Clippers.

Still, even with their great start, they’re just a Draymond Green injury away from having to think about making a big move. The Warriors have a rapidly shrinking championship window as Curry ages and wasting even one more season would be a disaster.

In fact, Golden State might be the team that is under the most pressure to deliver a championship or any in the NBA. They are extravagantly expensive thanks to astronomical luxury tax bills, haven’t made the playoffs in two seasons, and their window may only be another season or two at most after this year.

Especially if Klay Thompson is in fact able to return at a high level, the Warriors will want to be ready to take advantage.

Keep an eye on the Warriors if they end up deciding it’s time to add a major piece.
