LA Clippers’ free agency move No. 3: Eric Bledsoe

In an effort to bolster their offense at the point guard position, the LA Clippers traded Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo to the Memphis Grizzlies, receiving Eric Bledsoe in return. This is an interesting move for the Clippers to say the least.

The main problem here is that Bledsoe has been blamed for the Milwaukee Bucks’ early exits from the playoffs. His replacement, Jrue Holiday appeared to make all the difference to the Bucks with his ability to play both ends of the court.

However, Bledsoe is a solid contributor night in and night out with long arms for defense and the ability to create on offense. If he does not need to be the guy for his team, then there is a possibility that this trade works out for the Clippers, but it feels a little like they wanted to try something else.

Beverley is a solid defensive player who can struggle at the offensive end. The Clippers have two incredible perimeter defenders in George and Leonard so getting a player who is going to provide much greater offense seems to be a good move. Let’s just hope that Bledsoe can produce all the way through the postseason which has seemed to be where he struggles.
