Predicting the stat leaders for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2020-21

Coming off a championship season, can the Milwaukee Bucks repeats as champs? That’s a tough question to answer. What isn’t, however, is deciding who will lead them in points, rebounds and assists.

Bucks rebounds and points per game leader: Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Bucks revolved around Giannis Antetokounmpo. Does this come as a surprise? Absolutely not. Since his fourth year in the league, the Greek Freak has led his ball club in rebounds per game. Also in year four, Giannis led the Bucks in points per game and that hasn’t changed in the subsequent years since then.

Considering that Giannis has generally been a top 5-10 player in both categories, ranking fifth last season in points per game with 28.1 and seventh in rebounds with 11.0, we don’t expect anyone on the Bucks to truly challenge him for the lead.

Khris Middleton routinely drops over 20 a night but he doesn’t have the ball in his hands enough to rack up the points. In terms of rebounding, Giannis will have absolutely no issue leading the Bucks in that department. “Big man” Brook Lopez isn’t your traditional big, he averaged a laughable five rebounds a game last season.

Bucks assists per game leader: Jrue Holiday

As for assists, Jrue Holiday will lead the Bucks in this department. He may have edged Giannis by just .2 assists per game last year, averaging 6.1 to his MVP teammates 5.9, but Holiday is a true point guard. He’s consistently averaged anywhere from 6.0-8.0 assists per game. And while we don’t expect him to be amongst the league leaders, we do anticipate him taking the clear lead in this department.
