Predicting the stat leaders for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020-21

The expectations for the Philadelphia 76ers will be through the roof. But while many fans will be hoping for a championship banner, it’s just difficult to see that happening.

76ers rebounds per game leader: Joel Embiid

The 76ers are in a difficult situation. Of course, the elephant in the room is figuring out what exactly the franchise will do with Ben Simmons.

The wildly inconsistent point guard would’ve been the obvious choice here to lead the 76ers in assists per game. After all, since his first season in 2017, Simmons has easily been their best set-up man. Be that as it may, there’s a great chance that he won’t be there for the entirety of the season.

In terms of rebounds per game, Embiid will be the team’s best player in that department. From the moment Embiid entered the league in 2016, he’s been a consistent glass cleaner. Also, outside of his first season, Embiid has registered at least 10.6 rebounds per game.

76ers points per game leader: Joel Embiid

We do have a few interesting candidates to lead this ball club in scoring, most notably Tobias Harris but we doubt he’ll go from a borderline 20 point per game scorer, to someone who can pour in close to 30 on a nightly basis.

Embiid has consistently scored approximately 30 every single game and provided his game doesn’t take some sort of weird fall off a cliff, there’s no reason to believe he won’t be able to do the same once again.

76ers assists per game leader: Joel Embiid

While fans can expect Embiid to be their best scorer and rebounder, the All-Star big man is going to shock a few people when he leads them in assists as well. In back-to-back seasons, Embiid actually checked in at fourth on the 76ers in assists per game. With Simmons being shown the door, the ball will be in Embiid’s hands a ton. He can also expect to see a lot more double teams.

In our opinion, Embiid will rack up the assists thanks to shooters such as Seth Curry, Danny Green, and Tobias Harris at his disposal.
