Milwaukee Bucks: 5 offseason roster moves they need to make
Milwaukee Bucks offseason move No. 3: Extend Donte DiVincenzo
The Bucks lost starter Donte DiVincenzo to a foot injury very early on in the third game of the playoffs. Fortunately, the Bucks were able to cover this loss by inserting Tucker into the lineup. This does not change that DiVincenzo has developed into a key piece for the Bucks in just his third season.
DiVincenzo put up some incredible numbers this season. He averaged 10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals in 27.5 minutes per game. He shot the ball well going at 42.0 percent from the floor, 37.9 percent from the deep, and 71.8 percent from the line.
He has developed since his rookie season where he only averaged 4.9 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. This is tremendous growth for the 17th pick in the 2018 NBA draft, He has developed into a quality piece for the Bucks whose game compliments Antetokounmpo’s
It would be unwise, given the Bucks salary cap issue to offer DiVincenzo a high-value deal. They would do well to extend him for as long as they can as he is a quality piece in their team. He is going to grow even more as he plays in the league and this will benefit the Bucks in the long term.
