New Orleans Pelicans offseason roster move No. 2: Re-sign Josh Hart

With Josh Hart, it is not all about the numbers that he produces, but the way he competes. His numbers are still not that bad. As a small forward he is averaging 9.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.8 steals in 28.7 minutes per game. This is pretty good production for a reserve player in general.

His efficiency could use a bit of a boost as he shot 42.9 percent from the floor, 32.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.5 percent from the line. However, what this does not show is how hard Hart works for the team.

He is the type of player who will dive for a contested ball or rip a rebound out of the hands of the opposition. To put it simply as soon as he enters a game, he is involved and working hard to influence the outcome.

While some perimeter shooting will help the Pelicans next season, without the hustle of Hart, more shooting will not help as much as you might think. It is the often-overlooked glue guys who make such a difference on a team and Hart does a little bit of everything, especially the stuff that does not make headlines.
