Milwaukee Bucks: 3 crucial goals for their playoff run
Milwaukee Bucks playoff goals No. 1: Make the Eastern Conference Finals
The Bucks signed their team leader Giannis Antetokounmpo to his five-year super-max extension over the offseason. Their other offseason moves certainly were certainly designed to keep their superstar, two-time MVP forward.
However, if the Bucks do not make the Finals this season, or even next season, then there is a good chance that Antetokounmpo will get frustrated and request a trade. This will rip the heart out of the Bucks franchise if it were to happen.
If the Bucks can prove themselves competitive, even if they lose the finals this season, they will then be able to make adjustments around their superstar. This will keep him in Milwaukee for the foreseeable future which will secure the fortunes of the franchise.
It is a little unfair to put that much pressure on these playoffs. The Bucks have developed Antetokounmpo since he arrived in the NBA. He would feel an obligation to try and bring a championship to the team.
He has given some of his best years to the team so if they cannot get close to a championship, he is going to go elsewhere so that he can contribute in a meaningful manner. Making the finals would go a long way to keeping him.
