Houston Rockets: 3 players ready to make a leap into stardom next season
By Nick Swanson
Houston Rockets future star Kevin Porter Jr.
Kevin Porter Jr. burst onto the scene in 2020 after joining the Houston Rockets. His career got off to a rough start after being basically exiled from the Cleveland Cavaliers, but it looks like he has turned it around in H-Town.
KPJ won’t just be a star in Houston, he’ll be the city’s next superstar. It’ll take a lot to fill the massive shoes that James Harden left, not only as a player but as a frequenter at establishments such as Polekatz and ONYX. Jokes aside, he appears to be that guy.
Already a fan favorite, he has the explosive offensive game that reminds fans of what they once had in Harden. Once KPJ develops a consistent jumper he’ll be unstoppable. If he’s able to go from shooting 31.1 percent from beyond the arc to around 40 percent, he will solidify himself as the guy in Houston and as a superstar in the league.
With his breakout coming at the end of the 2020 season, Porter has all the momentum going into 2021. He has without a doubt secured himself a starting role on this Rockets or on a different team, should a blockbuster trade happen, and has secured his spot as the man to take the Rockets to the moon.
