Houston Rockets future star Jae’Sean Tate

Jae’Sean Tate is a player who really stepped up in his first season as a member of the Houston Rockets. He barely makes it onto this list because he has a very low ceiling. He can become a star for the Rockets but becoming a superstar is unlikely.

Tate is already 25 years old which means that he likely won’t have a very long career in the pros. While he was old for a rookie, he showed a lot of promise. Defensively, Tate was one of, if not the, best player on the floor for the Rockets at all times.

His offensive game leaves much to be desired at times, especially when looking at perimeter shooting.  Should Tate develop a consistent jump shot and become a legitimate threat from behind the arc, it will continue to open up the floor for the more ball-dominant players such as Kevin Porter Jr. or Christian Wood. Tate appears to have the raw, natural, ability to become a successful NBA player and, in his case, it could come much sooner rather than later.

If Tate continues to learn and develop under Stephen Silas, he should remain a crucial part to the Rockets success for years to come.
